Espresso Turns 1 Month Young – Oct 22-2020!

Espresso has turned 1 month young today!

It’s a momentous day for all Espressouls (this is what I like calling the team here at Espresso…a team of dedicated souls). Team Espresso, like most companies across the globe, battled the complexity of “working from home”, and got most of the product design and brand campaign while continuing to work from home... And the biggest moment of all—the launch of the brand—was again from home. We would be among the few shining examples of a brand launch from home!

Espresso packs a PAANCH with:

  • Digital assets that include the mobile responsive website myespresso.com, the Espresso app and the trading desktop platform Espresso Binge

In the last 30 days, we have seen quite a few hits and learnings (I would not call them misses, as we never miss an opportunity to learn).

Some hits have been:

  • Over 1,500 customers in the first month.
  • Over 10k downloads of our mobile app.
  • Over 50k followers on social media.
  • Our customers trading on all segments – Equity, F&O, Commodity.
  • Our customers treating us as their own and coming up with a lot of suggestions and feedback. We are already excited to see them helping us in the journey.

Some learnings are:

  • There were certain customers who had issues with their account opening fee getting debited more than once. 160-odd customers. And we worked with our vendor partners—Razorpay—and fixed the problem forthwith. All such customers were refunded their excess account opening fee. We truly appreciate their patience and support. We also appreciate the fact that they allowed us to learn from our inadvertent mistake.
  • Some customers had minor issues with the app not working, and in very few cases, the charts were not visible. We resolved their queries to the best of our ability. We are working to ensure the issues do not hamper the user experience and user interface for our customers.

On this, our first month-iversary, we re-commit to keep listening to our customers with an open mind and wide open ears. After all, we firmly believe that what is good for our customers is good for us.

As Espresso embarks on the second month of our journey, we thank them all – customers, regulators and partners for helping us live our dream!
